The SRIJ, part of Turismo de Portugal, supervises licensed online gambling. Its register lets a player verify not just a brand, but the company, domain and game categories that the licence actually covers.
What the licence covers
Portugal issues licences by activity, including fixed-odds sports betting, horse betting, bingo and authorised games of chance. A games-of-chance licensee may add a new game only after the technical system is certified and the authorisation is recorded on its licence.
A five-step verification
Open the SRIJ licensed-entities register; search the exact brand; confirm the approved domain; open its licence records; and check that the game you intend to use is listed. Repeat this check when a brand changes domain or ownership, because the legal authorisation attaches to the recorded entity and website.
Versus and YoBingo in the register
The official register lists VS Versus Bet at versusbet.pt. SRIJ records show licence 023 for games of chance. YoBingo operates at yobingo.pt through Bingosoft P.L.C.; licences 031 and 032, issued in September 2025, cover specified games of chance and bingo, with the initial terms running to September 2028 unless extended.
What an international licence does not prove
A licence from another jurisdiction does not replace SRIJ authorisation for accepting players in Portugal. Likewise, access to a website, Portuguese language or euro payments does not establish legality. The approved Portuguese domain and matching SRIJ record are the evidence to use.
Oversight after licensing
Licensed companies must maintain a certified gaming system, verify player records, state payment and bonus policies, pay announced prizes and provide responsible-gambling controls. SRIJ can supervise compliance and publish changes to licences and approved domains.
